Someone I work for has balls

So yesterday, the phone rings in Stoughton around noon. I pick it up and someone asks for Sue. I say she's not here. So:
“Well, this is xxxx calling to follow up with her since she has taken some of the cooking classes here before, that we are no longer sending out [...]

New Chemical Brothers

So, I think it's just today or yesterday that the new Chemical Brothers album came out in the U.S. It's been out for quite some time now elsewhere in the world and people have already remixed it. Here's one of them.

This is so stupid…. I'll be hearing the remix before I could [...]

WDS in the house with the Airport Express

Ok, so over xmas we set up Dad's Airport Express to stream music over AirTunes from downstairs using the WRT54G and the open source Sveasoft firmware so we could use WDS and saturate the house with microwaves. Well, I apparently completely misunderstood the Apple methodology to setting the thing up because all this time [...]

The Thought Project

Yet another simple and clever idea. Take a picture of a random person on the street and then immediately ask them what they were thinking at that moment.

Lessons learned

A consise breakdown of what happened during the livejournal crash last week, why it took so long to bring it back up and how to plan for prevention of future disasters. I suppose it's a good plan for anywhere really and since I've never had to deal with anything other that just small pea [...]

So, I mean to post this yesterday to mark the occasion, but here we are for now. Yesterday, Ireland went completely metric for their road system. Now, people always say that will never work here since we're too set in our ways, and we've yet to see what the consequences of a sudden [...]

Narnia

Apple has a first look at what Weta is doing for Chronicles of Narnia. It's been seemingly forever and a day since I read that, so I have no clue what it's about. But it looks like it will fill the December void of Lord of the Rings quite nicely this year.

No more COPs

Doh! Apparently the previous news break on COPs coming to Madison was just media hooplah. But now the MPD has said no since they've declined the invite for the camera crews and there will be no taping.
I was so looking forward to that.

I’m a prisoner

This is stupid. I can't exactly live at my place it seems. For the past week I've been “sick”. However, the sickness wasn't going anywhere or doing anything other than just causing me to be a walking snot factory, sneeze a lot, blow my nose constantly and give sinus headaches like you [...]

Alien Wind

Talk about unreal. The ESA put microphones on the Titan lander to record noise. Here you can hear part of the descent as the probe heard it. Makes me feel like I'm 5 again and dreaming of being an astronaut.
