hostip.info

Here's a neat little project. Granted there are others like it that I've seen, but this one is a little more interactive in gathering information. It's a community based project that is attempting to map IP addresses to geographical locations.

The Tolkien Crackpot Theories Page

The title speaks for itself. A gathering of newsgroup postings from over the years. Some are serious and some are quite hilarious. Such as this Pulp Fiction derivative:
Frodo: And ya know what they call a “Quarter Pounder with Cheese” in the Undying Lands?
Sam: They don't call it “Quarter Pounder with Cheese?”
Frodo: Nah, [...]

So, I bet you don't know who was elected in 1860. Ok, well that's an easy one, so maybe you do. BUT, do you know how many votes Lincoln got and how Wisconsin voted? You can find out this and many more stats right down to how a county voted (if available) [...]

Idiot drivers

Ok, I ranted a couple days ago about how the traffic just seems to spike for no reason outside. Well, it's happening again right now and I wonder what is seriously wrong with these people that they need to all be driving right now. You see, the roads are pure white right now [...]

Mars Scorecard

Currently we are monitoring the Mars-Earth game which began in late 1960 and is still in progress. As far as we can tell, Earth has been the only Lobber, with scattered reports of a possibly thwarted Mars invasion of Earth in 1938.
For those of you just tuning in, here is the play-by-play.

Bush goes to the moon!

er…right. I call shenanigans. First off, the deadline is 16 years away. As if he gave a shit about something that will happen anywhere from 11-15 years after he leaves office. There must be another reason here…..
….mmmmm…… What's going on this year again? Isn't there an election coming up?
Oh [...]
