Wes and Annie English

Wes and Annie English, originally uploaded by eaghra.

Couldn’t have asked for a more perfect day and night for Annie’s wedding. I tried to not take many pictures as to not annoy or get in the photographer’s way, but during the formal shots, I couldn’t help but snag a couple. They were always off [...]

RAW decoding comparison

RAW decoding comparison, originally uploaded by eaghra.

Ok, so last night I tried to go capture Comet Lulin, and frankly I chickened out from the cold and lack of a tall tripod. However, I did manage to catch it in a few shots and I thought it looked good on the lcd, but upon getting them [...]

Coldest yet

Yeah, so that pic over there, it seems to becoming an annual tradition. Last year was -2 I believe, year before that was about the same. I’m not sure what the actual temp was today where I was, but I listened to NOAA a few times in the early afternoon and Madison was [...]

Chicks

Not that kind, but rather the small feathery kind. Came in this morning to a rather large note on my case that simply said “Chicks on dock”. Much laughing was had at its ambiguity, but really it meant that instead of them chirping away at my case for the next 2 hours that [...]

40D!

It has arrived… and it frightens me. I think I have to actually dig into the owner manual on this one as my fumbling through the menus and dials is getting me nowhere.
All I know so far is that image stabilization rocks. I can nearly hold a 1/6 second shot without even trying.

Yahara video

I’m finding I should really plan more in making these videos, however it’s a bit difficult when I’m seeing everything for the first time myself and have no idea what is coming up. And hell if I’m going to run ahead and plant a camera to capture me going by. So I either [...]
