Jupiter

That there is Jupiter and its 4 major moons. Taken purely with the 40D and kit lens (EF28-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS USM) at .5 seconds, f/5.6 and expanded ISO to 3200. Quite a bit of noise due to the non native ISO, but still, I’m shocked. Now if I could only get the right series of adapters for my telescope.
However, with the release of the new 5D MKII, that camera could take that same shot relatively noiseless as its base ISO range is 100-6400, with expansion to 25,600. Film is dead.

I’d have to say bfd. The guy would have gotten a better pic if he held up something other than an iPhone to a telescope and its lens piece. Hold the iPhone up to the sky by itself and you just took a picture of black and the noise pattern of the ccd.
