First route
Well, after having made it through application, interview and more applications, and then 2 days of orientation, it was finally time for training. I had my first route today as a tagalong postal carrier. Basically, the guy I was with just gave me nearly everything to hand out and told me how to handle it, giving me pointers along the way. By the end of the day I was just being given stacks and told to head one way while he went the other. All in all, I'd have to say it was pretty sweet. As Peter said in Office Space in response to working outside as a construction worker: “Fuckin-A”. Seriously, today was great out there and it felt like I was just playing disc golf all day long. Instead of throwing the disc in the basket, it was put the mail in the slot and walk over to the next holehouse. I have no idea how far I actually walked, but I'm only slightly sore from all of it. I think that's mainly due to the boots I was wearing tho. Anyways, tomorrow is day 2 and it's supposed to be snowing (yeah… and it was supposed to snow today as well, but it was pure sunshine). We'll see how this all pans out.
