Upgraded
So, I was really digging the new radio until yesterday while charging it up, the handle somewhat broke. I think I was winding it a little too fast perhaps, and some teeth or whatever inside broke off. It still worked, but it sounded like I was playing wooden spoons while cranking away, so I could only guess that would get worse over time and eventually stop working. So, back to the store tonight with that (was feeling to lazy to do anything about it last night) and asked to exchange it for a new one, and if I could possibly get the next model higher for the $10 extra. Done and done. So while it's not the cool yellow color the last one was, it does have the NOAA stations, VHF, and the power output option. Which surprised me since before I had thought I'd need to get all sorts of adapters costing a bit extra since it doesn't say anything about including them. However, there they were inside the carrying case, adapters for 5 different phone types and general extension cord so you don't have to have whatever plugged right into the box itself.
Yeah, so I don't have a phone to even use that with or test it out, but I do have other gadgets that sometimes would like a little pick me up on the road. I think I need to check out my local Radio Shack to find the necessary parts.
