Well, today was an historic day for me at the P.O. as I was officially hired on as a PTF. For those not in the know, that means career. Before I was just a bottom of the barrel grunt worker who was temporary, over and over and over ( x 5 actually) again. But actually, for the time being, nothing has changed. So what's the difference? Higher pay (much higher), bennies, union, vacation/sick time, and seniority start date. The only odd catch was that it was the Stoughton office that hired me and not Madison. So I'll be doing a short commute down the road 6 days a week for a while until I can potentially transfer back into town sometime probably a year or later from now. Unless Stoughton somehow swoons me over in the meantime, which I'm not really counting on.
