-2 for a high, -20 to -30 windchill… and I felt it. Any time I walked south or west, which was half the time, it was like hitting a wall. Pretty much identical to last year. Only I was walking a bit farther this year and wearing official garb. No idea what that black mark is above my eye. Must have walked into something or rubbed my face with a dirty glove. To be honest again, it wasn't that bad. A challenge, definitely. Impossible, nowhere near. First 20 minutes or so was a shock, but then the muscles were moving enough and heat was being generated, so I felt nothing except the 2 middle fingers on my left hand kept freezing up along with condensation from my breath freezing on my cheeks, nose and eyes. And a constant running nose from my cold that I'm nursing. But that's what I love. The challenge of just a handful of days sprinkled through the year filled with random pains and hardships to burn into you how great every other day can be, especially in the spring and summer.
