Robins and more!
Well, wouldn't you know it. The first technical day of spring and I see a robin finally. Last year I wrote that I saw them first on February 20th. That was last year, which was a whole different beast than this year. It's almost as if they were like the bears that Lewis Black ranted on in Rules of Enragement; “Halfway through the winter I decided I didn't want to be a comic anymore. I wanted to be a bear. Because bears are more evolved. It gets cold and what does the bear do? It goes, 'Well I'm going to bed! This blows!' And then it gets warm and he goes, 'Well fuck it. Time to wake up.'” The robins, however, I swear they must send scouts up before the flock. That's an entire month over last year. Maybe they've just been hanging out down in Illinois where there's no snow on the ground.
And then the other item was I saw tulips pushing up through the ground for the first time today. If it wasn't for the fact that we're getting something under 10 inches of snow tonight, I'd say spring is here.
